about Surbhi
Surbhi Sarang (she/her) is an environmental attorney who is passionate about creating a more intersectional, diverse, inclusive, equitable, and just environmental movement.
She currently works to combat injustices stemming from industrial animal agriculture as a Staff Attorney with the Public Justice Food Project. Prior to this role, she advocated for a more sustainable and just food system as an Associate Attorney with Earthjustice's Sustainable Food and Farming team.
Surbhi previously fought for national climate and clean air protections at the Environmental Defense Fund. She began her legal career as a fellow at New York Lawyers for the Public Interest where she was trained in community lawyering working alongside impacted communities on environmental justice issues with a focus on waste equity.
Surbhi is a graduate of Columbia Law School and Oberlin College. She is the child of Indian immigrants and draws inspiration from the tradition of service and social activism found in her Sikh heritage. She is based in the Denver, Colorado metro area.
